Choices
The tyranny of food decisions can often be a frustrating battle between what your body craves and what you know in your heart to be a better choice for yourself. We are surrounded by a myriad of options, especially during the holiday season! Family gatherings, parties with friends, and galas with co-workers can turn your good intentions into mere afterthoughts.
How can we stick to our resolve to eat healthfully so that we feel well physically as well as emotionally? Let’s face it, making poor food choices doesn’t just affect your waistline. The cycle of temptation followed by overindulgence and then guilt can put an unnecessary emotional burden on you…and who wants that? This IS supposed to be the “Happiest time of the year” isn’t it?
The truth is, we’ve been given the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to guide every decision we make. Some of you may think, would the God of the universe really concern Himself with something so trivial? The answer is this. If you care…then YES, He does too and He’s more than willing to help!
That inner voice that speaks saying, “You have had enough” is there to lovingly guide you into making a decision NOW that will benefit you LATER. He does care about the little things, especially when it comes to you. After all, He did choose to give His life for yours. He always guides and speaks for our benefit. Invite Him to help you and then make the choice to listen to His perfect wisdom.
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21)
